I'm Brendan Stern, Product & Creative Director at Infinite Motion. I combine product design, UX, video, visual design, motion, 3D, and technology to create experiences that help people understand, engage, and connect.
Currently looking for Full-time or Freelance work.
For more than 27 years, I've designed and produced digital experiences, animation, interactive media, and visual content for startups, universities, and Fortune 100 companies. Since founding Infinite Motion in 2007, I've worked directly with clients and led projects from early concepts through final production.
My broad background allows me to move from defining a user experience and designing an interface to creating the 3D assets, animation, motion graphics, or interactive prototype that brings an idea to life. That combination allows me to approach a project from the user's perspective and the practical business realities of creating it.

I've worked with executives, managers, developers, marketers, educators, and artists. Whether I'm solving a product problem, simplifying complex information, developing a visual story, or building a new interactive experience, I enjoy finding the clearest and most effective way to communicate an idea.
I work from Minnesota and have collaborated remotely with organizations across the United States since 2007.

My work sits at the intersection of product design, visual storytelling, and technology. Depending on the project, I might be designing a product experience, creating a user interface, developing a motion system, building a 3D visualization, or directing an entire creative project.
User research, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, UI design, usability testing, design systems, and interaction design focused on making products easier and more effective to use.
Motion graphics, animation, 3D visualization, character animation, motion capture, product visualization, and real-time experiences that make complex ideas easier to understand.
Concept development, visual storytelling, branding, interactive experiences, and creative leadership from the first idea through final production.
I try to understand the users, goals, business needs, and constraints before jumping to a solution. Good design starts with understanding what actually needs to be solved.
I enjoy taking complicated products, technology, and information and turning them into experiences that are easier to understand and use.
I use everything from sketches and wireframes to interactive prototypes, motion studies, and working 3D experiences to explore ideas early and learn what works.
I've spent my career working with executives, developers, artists, educators, marketers, product teams, and clients. I value listening to people with different expertise and bringing those perspectives into the work.
Great-looking work is only part of the equation. Whenever meaningful data is available, I use it to understand whether a design actually improved the experience or helped accomplish the larger goal.
I'm naturally curious and enjoy exploring new tools and technologies when they can solve a real problem, improve a process, or make something possible that wasn't practical before.
I've always been interested in the technology behind the experience, not just the finished image. My work has included web development, 3D graphics, motion capture, augmented and virtual reality, real-time graphics, interactive applications, and game design.
More recently, I've incorporated AI into nearly every stage of my creative process, including research, ideation, image and animation generation, scripting, prototyping, automation, and production. I see these tools as another part of the designer's toolkit, not a replacement for design thinking or creative judgment.
That curiosity has been useful throughout my career. It allows me to understand what a technology can do, recognize where it creates practical limitations, and find creative solutions when a conventional approach isn't the best one.
I've worked on projects ranging from enterprise software and online learning to games, product visualization, advertising, interactive installations, and large-scale brand events.
Some of the organizations I've worked with include Target, Intel, Renewal by Andersen, 3M, Pillsbury, Honda, Dove, Toys "R" Us, CIDRAP, and the YMCA, along with startups, universities, and smaller organizations.
My work has included everything from designing the UX of an internal 3D product visualization platform to creating animated characters for a mobile educational game, developing online training for infectious disease researchers, and directing motion content for major corporate events.

Good work depends on more than technical skill. I try to bring the same principles to every project and team I work with.
I care about the people I'm working with and try to create an environment where people feel respected, heard, and supported.
I value active listening, honest feedback, and learning from people with different perspectives, including all members of the project in addition to leaders.
I appreciate products that feel intuitive because someone took the time to understand the people using them. I try to bring that same mindset to my own work.
I care more about what a project accomplishes than how many hours were spent producing it. Efficiency, clarity, and measurable results matter.
I expect to make mistakes, learn from them, and keep improving. Curiosity and experimentation have been central to my career.
Work is better when people can laugh. Humor can make collaboration more human, reduce tension, and help teams get through difficult problems together.
Whether you need a product designer, creative director, motion designer, or someone who can bridge those disciplines, I'd be happy to talk about your project.
